From La Chataigneraie:

Take the D949 (L’Absie/Parthenay Road) Go through Breuil-Barret, past the Goodbye Vendee & Welcome to Deux-Sevres signs, then start up a long tree-edged hill. Turn off sharp right to St Paul en Gâtine on a left curve before you reach the top. Turn left very soon to La Chandurière. Go past the farm and a bungalow on your right. As the road starts downhill, there is an old house on the right and a drive on the left. Then some blue railings. Immediately after is a sharp turning in to the left. Take this (warning, it is steep) and park at the top of the field. Au Marcassin  is up the steps you passed on the way in, Au Cocorico's  door is at the back of the house (Cockerel bell).

From Moncoutant:

Take the D744 (L’Absie/Niort Road) go past Pescalis fishing lakes and straight on to Chantemerle. Straight through, past the Go-karts and the Foret de L’Aventure. At the junction with the D949 go straight across onto a small road. Follow this through La Favri, down hill, past the quarry entrance. Before the cemetery, turn right, go down to the stream (which becomes the Vendee river!) and start up the hill. Go past a house on the left, then take the steep turning on your right just before the house with the blue railings, and park at the top of the field.  Au Marcassin  is up the steps you passed on the way in, Au Cocorico's  door is at the back of the house (Cockerel bell).

From Niort or Secondigny:

Go into L’Absie until you reach the main square. Along the top of the square are shops. The last one by the roundabout is a boulangerie (the nearest for your bread) Take the narrow road up alongside the boulangerie, past Migaud tractors, follow the road down, and then up onto the ridge. Bear right by the house and go down into St Paul en Gatine. Go past the Mairie on your left and then the cemetery. Turn left at the end of the cemetery, go down to the stream (which becomes the Vendee river!) and start up the hill. Go past a house on the left then take the steep turning on your right just before the house with the blue railings and park at the top of the field.  Au Marcassin  is up the steps you passed on the way in, Au Cocorico's  door is at the back of the house (Cockerel bell).
