A fantastic few days!
Loved the gîte which had everything we needed and more besides. Really appreciated the extra touches, dishwasher tablets, local walks, news about local events, home-made marmalade (delicious!) and wine!
The girls really enjoyed the pool, play area, pool table, ping-pong and cycles. Also had a lot of fun chasing frogs and lizards! Fran was a superb host with invaluable local knowledge and thanks so much for the horse riding. Accrobranche was amazing, great value and great fun, as was Pierre Brune in Mervent. Our only regret is we didn't book TWO weeks!

We all loved it here!
The house is lovely and we found loads of awesome things to do in the surrounding area. The boulangerie in the nearest town does really really good pain au chocolat!
The weather was perfect so the pool was even more enjoyable

Wonderful hospitality
We had a fabulous sunny holiday. The kids loved the pool and Jeff the dog. It was a fantastic time.

Fabulous stay
Thanks to Fran we had a very enjoyable 3 week stay. We have done so much and yet feel we have only scratched the surface!
We will visit again!

We spent 2 weeks at au marcassin. Good gite for 2 adults and 2 children. Well equiped to cook as cooking is my husbands hobby. Good beds!, shower is fine.
The property is fan-tas-tic! The pool, the playground, the playbarn, all you need to stay active.
But the most important item for us was Fran. She's the one who puts a jar of homemade jam in the fridge, she asks her French neighbours to bring the horses, organizes a jeu de boules events with all the guests or other things that maken your stay personal, If that is what you would like. We loved it!

We had a restful 10 days in this excellently equipped gite. We enjoyed relaxing round the pool and it was fantastic to swim in - perfect for hot days.
We used the walking information file and enjoyed a lovely rural walk, which we'd never have found for ourselves. For us there were some excellent golf courses within a reasonable drive.
Fran was very welcoming, and her directions made our journey very easy.

An excellent two weeks, very relaxing rural holiday. Gite was excellent with plenty of space internally, outdoor dining area and bbq. Pool was fantastic to cool down after hot days. Visited Royan, Futuroscope and Puy De Fou for days out. Venise Vert also recommended. Fran is an excellent host, the evening with the neighbours and visit to farm was special.

Cocorico is comfortable, light and airy. Fran appears to have thought of everything that a family on holiday would need. She is very welcoming and helpful. The pool and swings are a great addition to the gite; we spent a good few lazy days around and about. The area is remote, quiet and beautiful. It is definitely worth a visit to Tranche sur Mer (beach) and Puy de Fou (theme parc). The zoo at Mervent isn't bad either for families.

Spent a lovely few days at Au Marcassin. Gite is very comfortable, warm & clean. Good, hot shower and everything you need is in the kitchen. Lovely natural pool to relax around. Laundry facilities first class and a very useful games room if the weather is not too good plus the bikes on site are an ideal opportunity for exploring the area. Fran was very welcoming and informative prior to our arrival (especially with the directions sent before arrival) We would not hesitate to re-visit these lovely cottages. Many thanks!

Only 6 days here at Au Marcassin not long enough!! Gite was comfortable and well equiped. The surrounding grounds were perfect for relaxing. The barns had everything our two boys enjoyed. Children had a wonderful time especially the freshwater pool and meeting the horses from the nearby farm. Fran is the perfect host you could wish for. We had a fantastic time. Freshwater swimming pool was a real godsend for us, as my son who suffers from all sorts of allergies, had no problems whatsoever and enjoyed everyminute of his time in the pool. I would recommend the freshwater pool to anyone who suffers from allergies. Laundry facilites were brilliant. More than anything Fran's hospitality was outstanding. Jeggy Mathias

Wow!Swimming in a freshwater pool, complete with lily pads and a tumbling waterfall under blue skies, against a backdrop of green and golden rolling hills, seems like a dream now I'm back to reality in England! What a fabulous place to relax, recharge and bask in Fran's hospitality. Very comfortable and stylish gite and loads to do, all within a reasonable driving distance.

Brain-rottingly hot in Deux Sevres this year - high 30s much of the time - so the lovely pool was a godsend. The gite was well kitted out and comfortable, and the area has loads of stuff to go and see: historic medieval towns like Poitiers, Niort, and Parthenay; 17th century Rochefort; the bonkers Puy Du Fou (take water and a hat); and the calm of the Marais Poitevin and the lovely Japanese Garden at Maulevrier, to name but a very few that I actually had time to see.

Fran is a great hostess who puts herself out to make you feel at home.
